On my list for the year, is a digital camera for my school age kids.
It sounds a bit extravagant, doesn't it? But hand-me-down, partially working ones are perfectly fine for my two big kids. And so much fun for
our nature studies-that I am determined to do with more consistency this year.
Did you invest in any new school supplies this year?
I don't think it is extravagant at all Kristen! Digital cameras are so inexpensive these days. One activity my son loved to do was to label his photographs on the computer - not just the place/date but for example a picture of an animal - you can add in anatomy labels which explains why I have a picture of a duck which has all its various parts labeled and I just thought it had feathers, wings, webbed feet and a beak! It is a great learning activity especially if they have taken the picture.
ReplyDeleteI love Ann's idea.. wow, there are some amazing things you can do these days with homeschooling.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have any of this when I was homeschooling
our first four. We did keep nature journals though, and they would draw and label the things they saw. I still have those journals, they are little treasures.
Am enjoying your blog. I loved the quilting idea below, and now I have a new idea... I haven't quilted much in recent years, but lately am having a long to. I like the idea of sending it out to be actually "quilted"... since I have never done anything bigger than a pillow, and quilted it by hand.
Blessings, Pam
