Your Story Matters Party

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Each one of us could tell a story of the work God is doing in our lives. Wherever you are in your journey with God, your story is worth telling.

I believe this wholeheartedly and because of that I want to hear your story.

This is a spontaneous Linky Party with no expectations. But I believe our stories really do matter. Others need to hear them and we need to share them. If you've posted your story, please link it up so others may find it.

If you haven't yet written your story, find some time soon and write yours. Not only does it encourage those who will someday read it, but I know you will be blessed by the reminder of God's hand in your life.

For other Stories:

The Joyeful Journey-Joye shares how the Lord taught her to trust Him through her miscarriage and miracles story.

Like a Warm Cup of Coffee-Sarah Mae shares the hidden grief of abortion in her story.

Walking by Faith-Lauren shares her story of infertility and the loss of her sons.

And yesterday, I shared my Depression/Adoption story.

Will you share your story?

Kristin,
I hope you don't mind but I added my love story that I wrote last week to the link. In writing it I felt so much gladness for the ways that God works in our lives. It made it so easy to give thanks to Him for all of the little ways He works within us when we place our trust in Him. Thank you for sharing your story as well. It is such an inspiration to read others stories.

Thanks for your comment, Kristen. I hesitated to write it, because my story is more a hodge-podge of things, rather than a one-moment-in-time 'aha' moment. And I think I'm going to go back and revise it a little (as usual, i think i rambled!!)

My main point, I guess is that I felt very unlovable for most of my life and that God doesn't want me to feel that way. And I had to learn it the hard way. If that makes any sense!! :)

Melissa
PS. I'm going to try to get to the PO tomorrow... no promises, but soon for sure!! :)

Melissa-
Every story is different, and many are not an "ah-ha" moment, but still worth sharing.

I know what you mean about revisiting your story though...part of it is that God is not done writing our story either, or rather revealing it. Lord willing, we are growing in Him more each day and year.

I'm sure next week, next year, next decade, My Story will be different as well.

And I totally understand about the PO errand...I've got two things needing to get sent out too, maybe it'll happen this week...maybe next!ha!

Funny, I just posted my story and was going to say something here about how I feel that I could have said more and that I want to revize it. Guess I'm not the only one. :)

I used an old college paper as a starting point and I realized, 10 years later, how far the Lord has brought me in my pain. Ahhh--such a relief not to be in that stage of my life anymore and what thankfulness I have to the Lord for being with me and giving me His peace.
And thank you Kris, for being so brave as to share your story. I really appreciate it.
