DIY Mason Jar Cozy

Last year's snack mix was a hit with my great-aunt.  By January, she asked me to send more!  But the mason jar cozy warms the gift a little, doesn't it?

The sweater I found for $5?  I cut off an arm and used hem tape to clean up the bottom edge and keep it from fraying.  (Hem tape is an iron-on tape used to...uh, hem things)

And because it's Christmas, and the sweater had two arms, I'd love to send you
a cozy mason jar filled with yummy snack mix!
Tell me about a handmade gift you're giving or gave or gotten,
and I'll choose one comment on Monday, December 6th.

Last year I made my mom and sister bags (after only sewing for 3 months). This year my sister has requested a fancier one, and I'm making my mom a ruffly apron. We'll see if they end up with fabric for Christmas or actually finished projects! :)

What an adorable idea! I make these cranberry coffee cakes every year to give. I have one couple that says they look for me every year, so I have started something and don't want to disappoint. Looking forward to cooking some in the new and improved kitchen. Jackie

Such a good idea, instead of buying those products at the department stores better do something with our bare hands. It's good to show how creative you can be. I'm still thinking of what to make...

Last year I made 16 dozen cookies, divided them up into half dozens, put in cute boxes and gave them to teachers and friends. It was a lot of work but it was cheap and fun to give.

I'm making Snuggies for the wee folk in the family and fleece quillows for everyone else. I'm so excited. Oh and I finished up a scarf for my Brother too! I love this idea. We are doing foods in a jar, so some tiny wraps around them is a wonderful idea!!

Last year I made monogramed coasters for every one of my employees. I am not sure what to do this year but I absolutely love this idea!

I make one or two batches of Christmas cookies each day after Thanksgiving and stash them in the freezer. By Christmastime I have a great variety of Christmas cookies. I make up platters and we deliver them to all our neighbors. I'm also helping my oldest son paint the green lantern symbol (the super hero) on a green shirt for his present to his brother.

cute, cute, cute idea! Last year at a mini family Christmas reunion, I made everyone sets of note cards from scraps I had cut out from previous years Christmas cards. They were inexpensive to make, they turned out great and everyone appreciated the personal touch.

Cute! Martha might suggest using the rest of the sweater to make a knit stocking. Even the collar/buttons would be a great cuff!

Da-it's no secret-just the Chex Mix recipe on the boxes of each of the chex cereals...I also tried Pioneer Woman's recipe last year-very good-fresh garlic was the main difference.

I love mason jars, too! Nutella play dough? Never would have thought of that, but how clever! Did you share your recipe on KC?
